Job Summary
Disassemble production lines and equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitation using approved procedures and chemicals. Perform verification activities including swabbing to confirm sanitation effectiveness and reassemble equipment correctly for production startup. Inspect work areas to ensure they meet food safety standards and safely handle caustic and acidic cleaning chemicals. Communicate issues impacting safety, quality, or production to supervisors and address unsafe conditions observed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while attending required meetings and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or completion of GED
- 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or industrial cleaning environments
- Experience working with cleaning chemicals, PPE, or sanitation equipment
- Experience in physically demanding or repetitive work environments
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling, dilution, or sanitation procedures (SDS, labels, PPE)
- Familiarity with CIP/COP or foaming/spray sanitation processes
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned sanitation areas
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work thoroughly (not cutting corners)
- Ability to perform physically demanding, repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and ability to consistently show up on time
- Ability to recognize and address cleanliness, safety, or quality issues
- Clear communication with team members and supervisors
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Ability to safely handle hazardous cleaning chemicals and follow established safety procedures
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and addressing unsafe condition
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or completion of GED preferred
