Sanitation Technician

Job Summary

Direct and manage all sanitation activities across the bakery, kitchen, and facility, ensuring maximum equipment uptime and strict adherence to food safety policies. Own the master sanitation schedule, enforce safety programs including chemical handling, and oversee the insect/pest control program with external agencies. Utilize CMMS (Limble) software for asset management, formulate chemical concentrations, and maintain inventories of supplies and contractors. Lead the hiring and training of sanitation technicians, facilitate ongoing development programs, and develop applicable regulatory records. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance for effective shutdowns. Work different shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of six years' experience in sanitation and/or maintenance and in leadership roles
  • Must possess strong people-focused leadership qualities, with previous successful leadership and management experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain Food Service Manager Certification through Baltimore city and other licenses as required by the State, County, City or industry
  • Proficiency in office software, CMMS (Limble)
  • Strong mechanical skills, aptitude, and troubleshooting ability
  • Demonstrated knowledge in pest control and other food manufacturing facility requirements
  • Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time, and in hot environments
  • Physically capable of moving to all areas of the facility
  • Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a production operation
  • Able to climb ladders, crawl under equipment and work in tight spaces
  • Must be willing and able to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Desired Qualifications

  • Food industry experience is preferred: Bakery, kitchen, and facility management
  • College degree, college-level coursework, technical and continuing education encouraged
  • Eager to learn and continuously improve
