Job Summary
Implement the Sanitation program and enforce Food Safety Standards across the site while training staff to identify and control GMP issues. Manage the Master Sanitation Schedule, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and oversee chemical suppliers and pest control programs. Ensure facility readiness for Third Party or Customer inspections by coordinating with the Sanitation Manager, Plant Manager, and Quality team to address consumer complaints and regulatory gaps. Work directly on the production floor to develop clean-up procedures, conduct dilution testing, and maintain compliance with FDA, MDA, HACCP, and SQF requirements. Fill in for the Sanitation Manager during absences. Schedule runs Friday-Monday day shift with onsite requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Sanitation or combination of education and experience
- 1 or more years of experience in sanitation in the food industry
- 3 or more years of leadership experience in manufacturing
- Ability to lead effectively from the floor and work collaboratively with other departments
- Knowledge of Master Sanitation Plan and other legal requirements for the food industry, including GMP's
- Knowledge regarding requirements of FDA and MDA
- Knowledge in GMP's, HACCP, Allergens and SQF
- Understanding of the 10 principles of sanitary equipment design
- Good understanding of commercial bakeries and bakery equipment, as well as the functionality of ingredients in the bakery process and how it relates to possible insect development
- Demonstrated good record in developing and maintaining programs and handling conflicts with positive and practical attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with HACCP, pest control, environmental monitoring, food safety auditing and MSS is a plus
- Mechanically inclined is beneficial
