Job Summary
The Sanitation Supervisor will manage the sanitation program for the facility, overseeing a sanitation team across all shifts. Responsibilities include maintaining compliance with sanitation procedures, developing and implementing a master sanitation schedule, conducting training for plant staff, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards. The role requires knowledge of food industry cleaning chemicals, SSOP, and ability to troubleshoot sanitation issues. Supervisory experience and familiarity with SQF and GMP audits are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Food manufacturing sanitation management/leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience (either direct or indirect) preferred.
- Knowledge of food industry-standard cleaning chemicals, storage, use, measurement of concentrations.
- Knowledge of SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
- Knowledge on the proper steps involved in cleaning and sanitation.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used for effective cleaning and sanitation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient with computers and knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to construct basic spreadsheets, charts, reports, and training materials.
- Must be familiar with SQF and GMP audits along with general Food Safety programs.
Desired Qualifications
- Post high school education in chemistry, food sciences, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Proven interaction and leadership with chemical suppliers.
