Job Summary
Supervise all 2nd shift sanitation staff and oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of the production facility and equipment. Validate that work areas and equipment have been properly cleaned using ATP testing before release for production. Conduct end-of-shift pre-operational inspections and ensure sanitation schedules align with production needs. Mix, apply, and verify chemical concentrations while enforcing proper PPE use and maintaining accurate SSOP records. Train and coach employees, monitor labor hours, and troubleshoot sanitation, equipment, and staffing issues. Partner with Quality Control and Production teams to support plant operations. Full-time 2nd shift (3:00 PM finish), 8–10 hour days, 5–6 days per week with occasional Saturdays and on-call coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to safely operate tools, forklifts, and sanitation equipment
- Strong attendance and reliability
- 2–3+ years of sanitation, manufacturing, or leadership experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work hands-on in a production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
- Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems quickly
- Understanding of cleaning validation versus cleaning itself
- Experience using an ATP testing device (luminometer)
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe equipment disassembly and reassembly
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring, zone-based cleaning, and responding to presumptive Listeria positives in a ready-to-eat (RTE) environment
- Multilingual skills
- CFS and OSHA 10 certifications
- Full-time, 2nd Shift availability
- 8–10-hour shifts, 5–6 days per week availability
- Occasional Saturdays and on-call coverage availability
Desired Qualifications
- CFS and OSHA 10 certifications preferred
- Understanding of cleaning validation versus cleaning itself; experience using an ATP testing device (luminometer) to verify sanitation is a plus
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring, zone-based cleaning, and responding to presumptive Listeria positives in a ready-to-eat (RTE) environment preferred
