Job Summary
Lead sanitation teams to ensure proper staffing, safe practices, and effective cleaning processes across multiple shifts and seven days a week. Coordinate pre-shift readiness with client maintenance, verify lockout/tagout procedures, and conduct equipment inspections before, during, and after sanitation. Reinforce PPE use, GMPs, SSOPs, and HAZCOMM practices while ensuring compliance with USDA/FDA requirements. Accompany inspectors during pre-op inspections, maintain documentation logs, and apply company policies consistently. Manage budgets and adjust staffing to cover short crews while driving continuous improvement in sanitation effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years in sanitation leadership within food processing
- USDA/FDA environment experience
- Strong understanding of GMPs
- Strong understanding of SSOPs
- Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Strong understanding of PPE
- Strong understanding of chemical handling
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly teams in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
- Willingness to work in all plant conditions (hot, cold, wet, loud)
- Physical stamina for hands-on work in food plant settings
- Use of PPE
