Sanitation Manager

Job Summary

Monitor and review daily line performance to assure schedules are met and quality cleaning standards are maintained. Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning while documenting all activities using sanitation software. Analyze personnel needs, develop or revise policies, and maintain equipment or order repairs as required. Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, AIB, and BRC regulations by investigating issues and providing recommendations to management. Manage a team of sanitors through coaching, development, performance management, and time clock administration. Conduct weekly plant inspections with Quality Assurance, document unsanitary issues, and execute corrective actions. Manage the department budget, forecast spending, and assist leadership with capital budgets and strategic plans. Lead continuous improvement efforts around the master sanitation schedule, pest control, and environmental swab compliance programs. Research new technologies to drive safety initiatives and lead sanitary design efforts for new and existing equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of four to seven years experience as in the sanitation and food manufacturing industry
  • in-depth knowledge of chemicals, sanitation equipment, forklifts, scissor lifts and sanitation techniques

  • American Institute of Baking (AIB) certification or state certified in sanitation
  • Knowledgeable of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

  • United States Drug Administration (USDA) compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze situations, determine the best course of action and make decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or issues and determine priorities
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (permit-required areas)
