Sanitation Lead, Thursday - Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm

Job Summary
Inspect equipment and work areas for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws, cleaning all components to ensure readiness for production. Operate lifting equipment including IE Boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts while performing elevated sanitation duties across the plant. Coach, mentor, and develop Sanitation Technicians and team members, assisting in the creation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures. Escalate unsanitary practices or conditions to management and recommend changes to equipment, layout, or work practices to improve standards. Maintain proper documentation, test cleaning chemicals for titration strength, and ensure all team members adhere to food safety and SQF system requirements.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to test cleaning chemicals for titration strength
- Forklift certification or the ability to be certified
- The ability to operate and maintain hand tools for equipment setup, floor scrubbers and buffers
- The ability to read and interpret documents, operation manuals efficiently and communicate effectively
- The ability to read and understand measuring tools such as a tape measure, feeler gauges and micrometers
- The ability to lift to 40 lbs
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities
- 70% or more walking
- 70% or more standing
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling
- Frequent fine finger dexterity
- Understanding and executing Mercer Food's food safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Hold self and others accountable to Mercer Foods food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies
- Communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates
- Ensure all food safety, quality objectives and SQF system requirements are met
- Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed
- Adheres to and ensures GMP's regarding food contact packaging
- Adheres to and ensures Thrive's food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements
- Attendance is essential in demonstrating dependability
- A reliable team member is on time for all scheduled shifts and is present as scheduled
- Good judgement is demonstrated at all times to maintain a safe work environment
- Current training is an indication of job preparedness from a safety, job skills, and food safety perspective
