Job Summary
Provide general direction to the sanitation team based on the plant Master Cleaning Schedule and inspect areas at shift start to identify unusual issues. Lead hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations while ensuring effective communication across departments. Perform general industrial cleaning in production areas including walls, floors, equipment, and break rooms, and operate within confined spaces once authorized. Take inventory of supplies, order refills, and report spills or issues requiring extra time to supervisors. Ensure all tools and equipment function properly while complying with safety, quality, and hygiene regulations including lockout tagout and HACCP. Work Monday to Friday in a manufacturing environment with daily exposure to noise and temperature variations. Requires high proficiency in Microsoft Office and English literacy for paperwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment in a leadership position
- Completion of high school
- Knowledge of Federal regulations and Government sanitation guidelines
- Average computer, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read and write English to complete paperwork
- Self-motivated, hardworking and confident with both technical and human resource skills
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Basic use of electronic tablet for recording data
- High level of proficiency with current software such as Microsoft Office. Power point, Excel and email
- Ability to adapt to and quickly learn new software
- Possess the ability to conduct presentations
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment
- Significant knowledge base in the areas of: Lean and 5S
