Job Summary
Direct and coordinate sanitation schedules, cleaning requirements, and daily upkeep of the building, grounds, plant, and offices to ensure the facility is ready for the next day's schedule. Manage all aspects of department staffing including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management while directing porters and employees to conform to safety and quality procedures. Inspect mixers, ensure electric vehicles are charged, and oversee chemical compliance. Train the Department Lead to run operations during absences and fill in for staff as needed. Operate compactor machines and forklifts in a dusty, high-heat warehouse environment requiring 40+ hours per week on feet.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or G.E.D.
- Associate degree
- 3+ years mixing room experience
- Previous experience as a lead or supervisor
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Ability to successfully lead a team
- Experience training others
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs. repeatedly during shift
- Ability to work in an environment that is dusty and may contain spices with high heat
- Ability to work in an environment with recurrent exposure to chemicals and industrial cleaning products
- Ability to operate compactor machines
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Able to work 40+ hours per week on feet in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
- Regular stooping, kneeling, climbing, bending at the waist, reaching and handling
- Walk long distances repeatedly and climb stairs or ladders
- Must be able to read and write English
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures
- Must have availability to work weekends and overtime as needed
