Job Summary
Drive and operate sanitation collection trucks on prescribed routes, picking up refuse and transporting it to appropriate facilities. Operate heavy equipment including garbage packers, boom trucks, front-end loaders, and other machinery for facility maintenance and debris hauling. Perform pre-trip safety inspections on vehicles and equipment, checking fluids, tires, and lights, while conducting light preventative maintenance and cleaning. This role involves intermediate skilled trades work under moderate supervision to maintain the City's Sanitation department.
Required Qualifications
- Moderate experience in street maintenance, including the operation of motorized equipment.
- Valid State Driver's License - CDL Class A or B
- Possession of or ability to obtain Flagger Certification within one year of hire
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must pass motor vehicle history check
- Must pass drug screening
