Job Summary
Sanitation-2ND Shift at Tyson Foods Newbern plant with a 2nd shift schedule (7:30 pm until finished; Monday-Friday with possible Saturdays). Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, assembling/disassembling equipment, operating high-pressure hoses, and using sanitation chemicals while maintaining a safe workplace. Works with Quality Assurance and USDA, adheres to SQF 2000, and performs other tasks as assigned. Must meet physical requirements (able to work in <=35°F temps, lift up to 50 lbs), and be willing to complete Tyson’s Lock Out/Tag Out certification track. Includes shift differential of $1.00 and hourly pay of $23.65.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to work in temperatures <= 35 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 8 hours
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing and able to perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing
- Must have been in current position 6 months for lateral or demotion (contextual to internal transfer)
- Must be able to work in a team and comply with safety and sanitation policies
- Must be able to operate high-pressure hoses and sanitation chemicals
- Must become certified in Tyson’s Lock Out/Tag Out program
