Job Summary
Sanitation 1 Portage GF role responsible for keeping food surfaces and processing equipment in a sanitary condition within the Portage la Prairie GF Plant. Key duties include following safe work practices and SOPs, recording chemical usage in the Chemical Log, transporting chemicals safely, performing regular cleaning, testing and documenting foaming and sanitizing solutions, assisting with training to ensure proper sanitation, maintaining forklift-certification, participating in training activities to enhance skills, complying with company policies, and collaborating with team members and support groups to meet operational goals. Requires ability to stand on concrete floors, work with hazardous chemicals using appropriate PPE, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate in environments that may be hot, cold, wet, or noisy; preferred background includes high school diploma/GED and 6+ months related experience.”,
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6+ months related experience and/or training
- Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods
- Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE
- Must have manual dexterity in both hands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to walk/stand for long periods
- OSHA forklift certificates
- Ability to understand basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to distinguish colors
