Job Summary
The Sanitary Welder position involves fabricating, fitting, and GTAW/TIG welding stainless steel process piping for the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries. The role requires adherence to safety standards and regulations while performing high-purity TIG welding, reading and interpreting isometric drawings, and grinding, polishing, and finishing welds to meet sanitary surface roughness requirements. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, with technical trades training being an advantage, and must have at least 1 year of relevant sanitary pipe welding experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of relevant experience in sanitary pipe welding (food, dairy, pharma)
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Forklift and mobile elevated work platforms experience required
- Ability to use a variety of tools including blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches; owns tools needed to perform tasks
- Must be able to pass a weld test, including x-ray or coupon testing
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in GTAW/TIG welding process on thin-wall stainless steel
- AWS certification preferred (6G)
- Experience with automated orbital welding equipment
- Strong knowledge of purge welding techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and isometric drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
