Job Summary

Conduct skilled forensic evidence collection and full-body assessments, including detailed genital examinations, for sexual assault victims. Collect initial and ongoing health data, initiate individualized care plans, and provide patient education on procedures, medications, and follow-up referrals. Participate in the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and provide expert testimony. Requires Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing, LRN certification, SANE-A certification, and PALS within 14 days. Part-time position at The University of Kansas Health System.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; (ADN or BSN required)
  • Associate Degree Nursing 40 hour course and preceptorship in SANE/SART
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Adult (SANE-A) - Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification (CFNC)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Desired Qualifications

  • 64 hour adult/adolescent/pediatric class
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
