Job Summary
Sanding Associate at Velocity EDN in Van Nuys, CA. Responsibilities include abrading metal or hard surfaces to remove scale, paint, grease, rust and dirt; operating abrasive-blasting equipment to achieve specified finishes; masking areas to protect from abrasion; examining finished parts for conformance to specifications; and performing duties under the role designation of Cabinet-Abrasive Sandblaster/Shotblaster. Ideal candidates are self-directed or team-oriented, possess strong English communication, basic math skills, good interpersonal abilities, and a willingness to learn. Role requires overtime/weekends when needed and physical capability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and lift items over 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience in Sanding or Paint preparation will be helpful
- Ability to work well in self-directed or team environment
- Excellent in English written and verbal communication
- Knowledge in simple math
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to learn and self-motivated
- Ability to work overtime, shift/weekends when needed
- Physical requirements including standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
