Job Summary
Set up and prepare blast cabinets by loading abrasive materials, then retrieve staged jobs and deliver finished work to appropriate areas. Operate, monitor, and adjust blasting equipment while recording operational data to ensure quality standards. Position workpieces to maximize productivity, inspect completed items for defects, and sort nonconformities. Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication, and maintain a safe work environment by following established safety procedures. Read work orders and specifications to determine processing methods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology
- Knowledge of mechanical processes and techniques, with the ability to identify potential issues related to machinery, parts, or production processes
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, to support daily work activities
- Ability to recognize hazardous materials and unsafe working conditions and apply appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize similarities and differences in materials, processes, and products
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, processes, and work environments
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and remain calm and effective in stressful situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with individuals of diverse personalities and communication styles
- Constant standing, moving, reaching with hands and arms, and bending/squatting throughout the workday
- Constant use of fingers, hands, and arms to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, and perform detailed handling tasks
- Constant exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise
- Constant requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Frequent repetitive motions
- Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 25 lbs
- Occasional lifting or moving of materials up to 40 lbs
- Occasional exposure to airborne particles
