Job Summary
Operate large sandblast booths to remove paint and scale from steel parts while wearing fresh air supply hoods. Load abrasive medium, unload used medium, and use forklifts to sort, load, and unload parts in the booth. Clean wash bays, tanks, hoses, and nozzles; prepare surfaces by sanding imperfections and applying masking before painting. Manage curing ovens, identify quality issues, and transport painted articles. Maintain safety protocols and follow all operating guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Weiler Forklift Operating Certificate
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively to coworkers and management one-on-one and in groups
- Ability to display active listening skills and ask relevant questions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
