Job Summary
Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare aerospace components by removing coatings, rust, scale, and contaminants. Load, unload, and move materials throughout the fabrication shop while inspecting parts for quality and defects before welding, machining, painting, or assembly. Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine cleaning, ensuring all work complies with OSHA regulations, aerospace specifications, and 6S safety practices. Wear required PPE and safely operate forklifts, hoists, and power tools as needed. This 2nd shift role supports Ascent Aerospace's production of high-precision automated assembly systems and tooling for the aerospace and defense industry.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED
- Experience operating sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment
- Ability to read work orders and follow detailed instructions
- Knowledge of shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic mathematical skills
- US Person status as defined by 22.C.F.R. §
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
- Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift and move objects up to 50lbs
- Must be able to frequently walk & stand for short periods of time
- Must be able to see, talk, hear, touch, feel and reach with hands and arms
