Job Summary
Operate all tufting machines and blower units in the Pilot Plant to produce first-pass quality carpet samples. Adjust pile heights, stitch rates, and pattern coordinates while making mechanical adjustments to bed plates and presser feet. Coordinate with designers to meet specifications, mend outs, and perform thread-up and burn-in procedures. Maintain production records, conduct weight checks, blow yarn, and manage backing roll loading and doffing. Ensure compliance with safety rules, MSDSs, and ISO procedures while assisting in breaks for other operators. Perform occasional 10 or 12-hour shifts with 6-7 day work weeks in a non-climate controlled environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years tufting operator experience
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must have normal color vision or average to above-average shade discernment
- High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred
