Sample Runner SA- D Shift

Operate lab equipment to provide finished product analytics. Responsibilities include collecting hourly samples for three systems, taking 2 fat samples, feather samples, and blood samples; frequent climbing and extensive walking through the plant; strong communication, computer, and penmanship skills; maintain upper body strength to climb vertical ladders and pull own weight; assist in other areas of the plant as needed. Follow Standard Work Instructions (S.W.I.) and Training Within Industry (T.W.I.) per Lean rules; follow Simmons safety policies and regulatory guidelines for safety, environment, vehicles, feed products, packaging, and ingredients. Operate equipment, monitor and adjust production speeds, maintain quality of the finished product, and keep the department clean. Complete all forms and participate in team activities; contribute to team cohesiveness, attend meetings, and support Bey within organizational goals. Understand and apply Simmons operating systems principles and maintain familiarity with applicable policies; communicate concerns and improvement ideas. Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives. Physical requirements include working in a wet/noisy/dusty/humid environment, standing/walking for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, occasional bending/kneeling/pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. PPE includes hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, safety footwear, H2S monitor, and full-face respirator. Travel: None. Industry experience: None. Veterans are welcome to join the team.
