Job Summary
Sort and weigh samples, rotate trolleys in and out of drying ovens, and safely operate machinery to crush, split, and pulverise samples as directed. Ensure accurate sample reconciliation and chain of custody while reporting any quality, production, or safety issues immediately. Maintain a tidy work area, participate in daily pre-start meetings and shift handovers, and comply with all OHSE requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment and reporting hazards. Lift items weighing up to 20 kg with repetition and manage a fluctuating workload in a fast-paced environment. Requires a driver's license and the right to work and live in Australia.
Required Qualifications
- The completion of at least year 10 or equivalent
- The ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including standing for extended periods and regularly lifting items weighing approximately 15–20 kg, in accordance with safe work practices
- Effective verbal and written communication skills suitable for a laboratory and production environment
- Ability to work independently once trained, while managing a fluctuating workload and changing priorities
- Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining safety and quality standards
- Strong practical problem-solving skills with sound mechanical aptitude relevant to sample preparation equipment
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team to support operational and production requirements
- Driver's License
