Job Summary
Perform routine preparation of geological materials including sorting, transferring, drying, crushing, pulverizing and screening according to client work orders and SGS Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct routine quality checks (particle size analysis, dust loss) and report data to supervisors if outside acceptability parameters. Maintain clean and organized workbench, document work orders, and enter QC results into SLIMS. May assist in other Geochemistry laboratory areas. Requires high school diploma and 0-1 years of relevant experience; strong analytical/mechanical skills; ability to read and follow instructions; willingness to learn new tests and procedures. 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 continental schedule with potential travel to other SGS locations or client sites. 80% health/dental/vision coverage, PTO, RRSP eligibility. Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma
- 0-1 years of relevant work experience or equivalent through education
- Strong analytical and mechanical skills
- Ability to perform routine bench tests
- Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner
- Willingness to learn new analytical tests, instrumentation and procedures
- Candidates must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with others & independently
