Sample Management Specialist - 1st Shift

Job Summary
Manage and track daily samples delivered to the site, including receiving, inspecting, checking-in, and transferring them. Process outbound shipments using validated containers and temperature monitoring devices, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Serve as sample clerks for QC Labs by auditing inventory, supporting quarterly fridge/freezer cleaning, and disposing of samples and chemical waste according to ALCOA+ documentation standards. Use handheld RF scanners and mobile apps to perform replenishments, stock rotation, cycle counts, and order entry. Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone while collaborating with supervisors to streamline workflows and maintain safety standards in the laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse, or inventory-control experience
- Confident using RF handheld scanners or mobile scanning apps
- basic Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills—especially via email
- friendly, solution-focused approach
- A self-starter who thrives with detail, accountability, and teamwork
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
- Must successfully complete and satisfy Thermo Fisher's pre-employment screening (including background check and drug test) and any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements
