Job Summary
Laboratory Technician 1 responsible for sample management: receive, log, and organize laboratory samples according to established protocols and chain-of-custody procedures; prepare samples for testing with preprocessing, labeling, and documentation; identify and report discrepancies or equipment issues; operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration; conduct routine quality control checks and document results; maintain detailed records of sample activities, test results, and equipment maintenance; support inventory management of supplies and reagents; coordinate workflow with team members; perform data entry and maintain laboratory information systems with precision; provide exceptional customer service and interact with clients in person and by phone; follow laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements; assist in coordinating with other staff to ensure timely testing and reporting; capable of working in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word) and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent typing skills and proficiency in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment and instruments and familiarity with laboratory information management systems (preferred)
