Job Summary
Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls while achieving personal and store sales goals. Perform DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs. Maintain store product and operational standards by managing inventory processes such as truck put away, shoot outs, and cycle counts. Safely deliver parts to customers as needed, picking and staging parts for orders, collecting credit accounts, and dropping off sales flyers. Assist with store cleanliness and general stocking of trucks and back stock. This role supports the DIY business and commercial delivery operations at Advance Auto Parts, a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider serving professional installers and do-it-yourself customers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Fleet safety certification
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends
- Basic driving and navigation ability
- Ability to use delivery board system
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Operating POS and Parts lookup systems
- Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service
- Ability to use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak and write English
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
