Job Summary
Guide customers through the vehicle purchase journey from initial greeting to post-delivery follow-up, managing the full sales process including needs discovery, demonstration, negotiation, and financing handoff. Consistently meet monthly unit sales and gross profit targets while maintaining high Customer Satisfaction Index scores through genuine rapport building and active listening. Execute deals with accuracy by completing required paperwork, operating with full compliance to federal and state automotive retail laws, and introducing every client to the Service Department. Maintain manufacturer certifications through monthly OEM and SOAG training, build personal follow-up systems for repeat business, and manage multiple customers simultaneously in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, walk the lot, and lift up to 30 pounds
- Requires sufficient dexterity to type, reach, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to sit for sustained periods when working at a desk, phone, or computer
- Role requires extended periods of standing and walking while assisting customers on the showroom floor and sales lot
- Fast-paced retail automotive environment with daily performance expectations and monthly cycle accountability
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Prior automotive sales experience
- Working knowledge of automotive products, features, financing concepts, and trade-in valuation
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws governing retail automotive sales
- Ability to manage multiple customers and deals simultaneously without losing attention to detail
- Comfort with dealership-specific software, CRM/lead management systems, and follow-up tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard business communication tools
- Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and discretion in all customer and team interactions
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain trust throughout a multi-step sales process
