Job Summary
Salesperson responsible for driving DIY customer sales and service goals in a retail auto-parts environment. Provides excellent selling experiences for DIY customers in person and over the phone, supports battery installation, testing, and wiper installs, maintains inventory accuracy (including truck put away, cycle counts, and back stock), and ensures store standards. Requires 2-3 years of successful retail sales experience, basic automotive parts knowledge, ability to source parts from stores, hubs, and external suppliers, and proficiency with inventory and POS systems. Must work various days including evenings and weekends; English fluency (Spanish a plus) and effective communication with customers and team members are essential. Fleet safety certification is preferred. Responsibilities include delivering parts to customers as needed, maintaining store cleanliness, and adhering to safety and operating procedures. Strong math, reading comprehension, and ability to use delivery boards and diagnostic/test equipment for DIY services are required. The role can be part-time or full-time and targets meeting personal and store sales goals, with opportunities to provide DIY services such as battery and wiper installations.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment
- English (Spanish a plus)
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) in all units of measure
- Ability to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends
- Basic driving and navigation ability
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Experience using inventory systems and store equipment
- Knowledge of automotive parts and systems
- Safe handling and service procedures for DIY battery installations and wiper installs
