Job Summary
Salesperson role at Advance Auto Parts in Asheville, NC: entry-level retail sales position supporting the DIY business with knowledge of store systems, basic automotive parts knowledge, and the ability to source from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. Responsibilities include delivering excellent DIY customer service in-person and over the phone, achieving personal and store sales goals, performing DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs), maintaining inventory and store standards, handling truck put-away, cycle counts, back stock, and general stocking. Additional duties include store cleanliness, safety, and operating POS and parts lookup systems. Must be able to work a variety of shifts, communicate effectively, and comply with safety and store procedures. Prior experience (2-3 years in diverse retail) and basic math skills are preferred; Spanish language ability is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Speak and write English; Spanish a plus
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) in all units of measure
- Basic driving and navigation ability
- Ability to use inventory systems and store equipment
