Job Summary
Sales Support Engineer works as a technical partner to Sales and customers, delivering hands-on expertise across industrial water treatment programs within pulp & paper and heavy industrial facilities. This role blends field engineering, process optimization, and customer support, operating on-site inside customer facilities to troubleshoot systems, optimize chemical treatment programs (boilers, cooling, wet end, wastewater), and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include on-site technical support, building relationships with mill operations and environmental teams, partnering with Sales to maintain customer satisfaction, conducting routine monitoring and lab/field testing, performing data-driven adjustments, diagnosing and resolving process/chemical/equipment issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action plans, maintaining and calibrating dosing equipment and monitoring instrumentation, assisting with installation/startup of new equipment or program changes, maintaining service reports and account documentation, and helping identify growth opportunities within existing accounts. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 3-5+ years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, and offers competitive compensation and full benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (preferred)
- 3-5+ years of experience in Industrial water treatment, pulp & paper, or related process industries
- Strong knowledge of Chemical treatment programs
- Plant operations / process systems
- Hands-on troubleshooting and field-service experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
