Sales Specialist, Southern Europe

Job Summary

Drive territory sales growth in Southern Europe by achieving objectives aligned with regional plans and expanding Scanlan's presence across Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria, and Romania. Promote premium surgical instruments through consultative engagement with surgeons, operating room teams, and distributors while managing backorders, returns, and delivery coordination. Conduct product evaluations, support clinical trials, deliver training to distributor representatives, and participate in surgical congresses and trade shows. Submit accurate sales reports, activity updates, and expense reports to the Sales Director and Regional Manager. This field-based role requires 60-70% travel throughout the region and fluency in English and Italian.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Experience working in a sales, clinical, healthcare, medical device, or distributor-facing role
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (60-70%) by air, train, automobile, and other modes of transportation
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Italian
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, and customer engagement skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical product information to healthcare professionals and distributor partners
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel internationally
  • Based near Venice, Italy, or within convenient access to Venice Marco Polo Airport or another nearby international airport

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of successful sales experience, preferably within surgical devices, medical devices, or healthcare products
  • Demonstrated success working with distributor-based sales models
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, operating room environments, and surgical instrumentation
  • Clinical healthcare background or medical sales experience
  • Experience supporting product evaluations, surgeon training, and field-based education initiatives
