Job Summary
Senior Sales Associate at Petco responsible for delivering empathetic, knowledgeable service on the sales floor, mentoring new and junior associates, and supporting store operations. Responsibilities include guiding customers on pet care, nutrition, and product knowledge; maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pets and pet parents; modeling strong selling behaviors and customer service; mentoring teammates; assisting with product selection, processing sales, returns, and exchanges; supporting merchandising, inventory, opening/closing procedures, and special projects; and upholding store standards and policies. Requirements include 1+ year retail experience, passion for animals, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with opportunities to develop leadership skills and advance within a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Experience handling cash and transactions
- Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds
