Job Summary
As a Senior Sales Associate at Petco, you will play a key role on the sales floor by delivering consistent, knowledgeable, and compassionate service to pets and pet parents, mentoring newer associates, and supporting store operations. You’ll educate customers on promotions, services, and loyalty programs; assist with merchandising, inventory, and front-end tasks; and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment for both people and animals. You’ll lead by example with strong selling behaviors and customer service, while partnering with leadership to resolve customer concerns and support daily operations. Must have 1+ years of retail experience, a passion for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting; the role requires flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions
- Experience mentoring and training new associates (leadership)
