Job Summary
Respond to customer requests for quotes by sourcing products from existing inventory or purchasing them externally. Build quotes that create value for the customer and profitability for MRC Global while identifying and pursuing sales opportunities. Utilize company systems to process orders, create vendor purchase orders, and verify shipping status for inbound and outbound shipments. Proactively engage with customers to offer add-on solutions, resolve issues, and adjust sourcing efforts based on their needs. Adhere to contract requirements regarding pricing, freight, and delivery schedules while consulting with managers and suppliers as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) or more years of experience in a dedicated customer-facing role, inside sales, and/or warehouse services
- recent completion of post-secondary education to include any of the following: Technical/Trade School, associate degree, bachelor's degree, preferably with studies in industrial or sales
- current, valid driver's license
- acceptable driving record
- Competent in the use of computers and software applications
- Ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Attention to detail
- sense of urgency
- Frequent driving/traveling
- Able to interact with others frequently
- Able to sit/stand for long periods of time
