Job Summary
Sales Representative Trainee program prepares new sales professionals to learn product knowledge and consultative sales skills through a 4–6 month training phase, including in-class, field, role-playing, and independent study, with placement into a sales territory upon completion. Responsibilities include developing product/service/industry knowledge, participating in consultative training, leveraging technology and Salesforce for reporting, collaborating with Customer Service/Distribution/Marketing, understanding merchandising systems, analyzing data, articulating program value, traveling to consult with customers, conducting on-site activities and trade shows when appropriate, and preparing business transaction reports. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, willingness to relocate temporarily for the trainee program and travel locally or nationally, proficiency with MS Office and Internet applications, strong math/analytical/presentation/organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to build relationships across the organization, autonomous and team work capability, and strong attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Finance, Marketing, or related field
- Occasional travel either locally or nationally may be required
- Temporary relocation to participate in trainee program and willingness to relocate upon completion
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong math, analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion) & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
