Job Summary
Manage an assigned territory by keeping abreast of business conditions, recognizing new opportunities, and maintaining accurate account records. Travel throughout the region to call on regular and prospective customers, solicit orders, and conduct sales floor presentations. Execute daily, weekly, and monthly objectives while maximizing sales results through effective product knowledge and persuasive communication. Compile lists of prospective customers, prepare for calls with customer history and credit information, and write orders to design displays and organize on-site promotions. Understand and apply in-store merchandising principles to influence shelf management, cold box, and floor display guidelines. Keep all products properly rotated, cleaned, and stocked at appropriate levels. Report timely and accurately on sales distribution and promotion issues. Use pallet jacks and hand carts to load and unload products, frequently lifting up to 40 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Proof of auto insurance (SR-22 is not acceptable)
- Own means of reliable transportation
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be able to work with very little direct supervision
- Must be highly organized
- Must have strong ability to work quickly and accurately while handling competing priorities
- Must be able to safely use pallet jacks and hand carts
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10-40 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally move/push or pull up to 250 pounds
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, lift product floor to waist, shoulder to overhead
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects tools or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must be able to perform job duties safely and be considerate to themselves and others
- Must be able to adhere to the company's professional dress and appearance policy
- Must be able to work in Anchorage, AK
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years related experience or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Beverage sales and/or merchandising experience
- Knowledge of local market
- Customer service skills
- Experience in the distribution industry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
