Job Summary
Sales Representative in Putnam, CT responsible for driving business development within the assigned territory, acting as the company’s representative to ensure clients receive premium products and high customer satisfaction while ensuring profitability. Responsibilities include owning the outcome of each job/project, finding opportunities, quoting, procuring orders, coordinating logistics, ensuring quality workmanship by crews, and driving profitable execution. Expected activities include developing product/service knowledge, responding to customer inquiries, planning weekly attack plans, maintaining CRM with call data, prospecting and maintaining client relationships, attending pre-bids and client meetings, handling change orders, analyzing and reporting sales data, developing customer bases, creating quarterly business plans, coordinating events, promoting the company at industry events, adhering to safety programs, and ensuring timely invoicing and receivables. Qualifications emphasize an associate degree or equivalent experience, construction equipment rental/sales background, strong planning/organizational skills, proficiency with PCs, teamwork, ability to read schematics/blueprints, budgeting and bidding knowledge, and strong communication and travel flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in construction equipment rental, sales, manufacturing, or managing construction projects
- Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects
- Proficient in PC software applications
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manuals
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and bidding procedures
- Skills in workflow analysis and management
- Knowledge of contract documents and specifications
- Use assigned computers, equipment and software in performance of all assigned duties
