Job Summary
Heavy-Duty Truck Sales Representative at I-State Truck Center (Sioux Falls, SD). Actively engage customers to identify needs and recommend Freightliner truck models; conduct product demonstrations, test drives, and presentations; develop and maintain relationships with fleet managers, owner-operators, and businesses in industries such as construction, logging, and transportation. Negotiate sales contracts, financing options, and trade-ins; maintain in-depth knowledge of Freightliner truck specifications and customization options; stay updated on industry trends. Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets; generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, and industry events; collaborate with sales team to increase market share and brand visibility. Maintain accurate CRM records, coordinate with service and parts departments for delivery and customization, and provide post-sale support. Requires 2-3 years in heavy-duty/auto sales, strong communication and negotiation skills, ability to explain financing/warranty programs, CRM proficiency, valid driver’s license (CDL a plus), and willingness to work flexible hours; education: high school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s preferred).
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in heavy-duty truck sales, automotive sales, or related field; Freightliner experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty diesel trucks and Freightliner models
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain technical specifications, financing options, and warranty programs
- CRM software proficiency; Microsoft Office skills; industry-specific software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
