Job Summary
Outside Sales Representative to grow Dal-Tile countertop sales in the prescribed region by servicing existing customers and expanding the account base through cold calling (avg 4-5 cold calls per week). Responsible for weekly sales/call reports, monthly strategy and travel calendar, area market analysis of top accounts (dealers, contractors, builders), determining product preferences, increasing market share while maintaining margins, completing Positive Action Forms for displays/sales, using negotiation to place displays in showrooms, client follow-ups via calls/emails, maintaining client files, and providing PK seminars. Requires self-motivation, strong communication and negotiation skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and willingness to travel; preferred: high school diploma with some college and 4 years of selling experience; computer skills in Word/Excel/Lotus Notes; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and some college preferred
- 4 years of prior selling experience
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, Lotus Notes/email
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- Good verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds as part of the job
