Job Summary
Manage HVAC residential and contractor sales for an established wholesale distributorship, developing and maintaining strong client relationships to build a robust customer base. Solicit new accounts and dealers while implementing market strategies to secure maximum market share and sales dollars consistent with company policies. Maintain direct personal contact with assigned accounts, resolve customer relations issues promptly, and serve as a host at dealer meetings and industry events. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and position self to access equipment, requiring the ability to move parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Draw against commission with earnings potential ranging from $60,000 to $200,000.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent, such as a General Education Development (GED) certificate
- A minimum of 2-4 years of sales experience within the HVAC industry
- Proven work history in sales and marketing
- Proficiency in air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level
- Experience in residential and commercial contractor relationships
- Ability to utilize heavy machinery, with accommodations available as needed
- A valid driver's license
- Proven success in sales, marketing, operations, and leadership roles
- Proven success in establishing and meeting sales goals
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical aptitude with the ability to analyze and interpret data
- Strong and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work independently but meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames
- Ability to give quality presentations
- Strong estimating and negotiation skills
- Effective communication skills in English, including speaking, reading, and understanding, to ensure compliance with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures
- Required to move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Required to position self to access equipment by standing, sitting, or walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Operates computer and telephone equipment for extended periods of time
- Visual acuity is required to perform essential job functions such as reading labels, inspecting equipment, monitoring inventory, and operating machinery
- Required to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in business or a related field
- Experience in the operations of a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house
