Job Summary
Achieve targeted sales goals for volume and margin while building positive customer relationships to strengthen loyalty and dealer reputation. Actively identify new prospects, review technology solutions, and share ROI data to challenge customer thinking. Coordinate with Store Managers, Parts, and Service to support needs, and maintain a regional customer list using the HUB. Effectively describe used equipment values and condition to ensure profitable sales at competitive prices. Plan and document all interactions, follow the dealer selling process, and complete paperwork accurately. Travel regularly to customer and store locations, with occasional outdoor work in extreme weather and exposure to mechanical parts. Rotate on-call responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have and maintain a valid drivers license
- Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, walk on unpaved terrain, talk, reach with arms and hands, have good manual dexterity, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, handle or feel, hear alarms/telephones/normal speaking voice
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
- Moderate physical activity required by moving and positioning objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Travel to customer locations, meetings, and other store locations on a regular basis
- Occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold); walking on uneven terrain; occasional exposure to insects
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required including cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and provided uniform
- A clean and safety-conscientious work environment is required
- Work may involve long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings
- May be required to rotate on-call responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience and knowledge of large ag equipment or commercial/turf equipment
- One year of equipment sales experience
- Experience in an agriculture dealership
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
- Certified Crop Advisor certification
