Job Summary
Architectural Sales Representative with ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions drives design and specification of door openings by cultivating relationships with architectural firms, design teams, and specifiers. Responsibilities include identifying target firms in Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12, and Government markets; delivering product specifications and educational programs; assisting with substitution and approval procedures; ensuring specifications move through bids; and promoting adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool. Travel to Montana and Colorado markets is required; role combines home-office work with on-site visits, and requires reading and interpreting facility standards, project specs, and architectural drawings. Background in architectural representation or design-build, or a college/university degree (or equivalent experience) and 2–3 years of related experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (Salesforce) is expected. Knowledge of door hardware, BIM tools, and design-specification processes is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- College/University degree or work experience commensurate with minimum high school/GED diploma
- At least 2-3 years’ industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management (will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting
- Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus
- Ability to travel within an assigned territory
- Ability to perform responsibilities in a home office environment or while traveling
- Read and understand specifications/facility standards; read architectural design documents and project specs
- Experience with Openings Studio BIM software is a plus
