Job Summary
Supports Outside Sales with order entry and customer service by managing complex quote requests and order entry for industrial distribution customers, with a primary focus on the power generation sector (nuclear, wind, and solar). Observes safety procedures and coordinates with purchasing, vendors, and production to align delivery schedules on large or time-sensitive orders. Researches products using Google, AI tools, and internal databases when customer-supplied part numbers are incomplete. Communicates with customers to clarify requirements and troubleshoot issues; collaborates with Sales Team to evaluate requirements and support accurate quote generation; reads mechanical drawings and blueprints to support product selection and order accuracy; participates in process improvement for order entry workflows; operates in a high-volume, multi-line quote environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 6 months of experience in customer service, inside sales, or order management preferred
- Experience in industrial distribution, construction, or manufacturing is a plus
- Associate's degree, coursework in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management, or equivalent hands-on experience may be beneficial
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel); able to learn and become proficient in order entry and data entry software
- Ability to read engineered drawings and decipher information needed to quote the customer
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly convey technical information to customers
- Active listening skills with a customer-first orientation
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
