Job Summary
Network and build relationships to generate referrals for pre-need and at-need cemetery arrangements through face-to-face prospecting, door knocking, and group seminars. Maintain a minimum of four hours daily in prospecting activities and follow up with families after services to secure recommendations. Present the Personal Planning Guide and explain pre-planning benefits while establishing trust-based connections that lead to future sales. Collaborate closely with funeral directors and location managers to review previous services and arrange continuation visits within two to three days post-service. Work flexible schedules including nights and weekends, often traveling locally and to multiple locations while maintaining strong community and civic ties.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience
- Current state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Funeral Directors License (in states/provinces where required)
- Sales experience or one to two years industry experience or equivalent education
- Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Ability to work well in a team, as well as independently
- Ability to work beyond 'standard' hours as the need arises
- Good driving record
- Good work ethic
- High-level of integrity
- Creative, outgoing and energetic
- Comfortable presenting in front of others
- Desire to help others
- Bilingual, knowledge of another language
- Local and/or multiple location traveling required
- Comply with dress code policy
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity
- Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
- May climb stairs to access buildings
