Sales Planner
$80,000–$95,000 year
On-siteNew York City, New York, United States
Job Summary
Develop and manage the monthly working forecast across channels, SKUs, and customers by weighting shipment history, POS data, promotional plans, and seasonality. Build short- and medium-term forecast views to help Sales, Finance, and Operations understand demand risks, opportunities, and key planning assumptions. Prepare analyses for the monthly forecast review process, identify and prioritize risks, recommend adjustments, and facilitate cross-functional alignment. Track forecast accuracy and change drivers over time to diagnose root causes and recommend practical improvements. Build and manage commercial planning dashboards that analyze retailer POS, distributor portals, and syndicated data to identify early signals and demand risks. Translate data into actionable recommendations for customers, channels, promotions, and innovation while supporting executive-level reporting and scenario modeling. Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to incorporate promotional plans, distribution assumptions, and account-level insights into the demand planning process. Establish planning data discipline across spreadsheets, ERP, and BI tools while defining practical templates and SOPs that scale with the business.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in forecast planning, sales planning, commercial analytics, supply chain finance, or a closely related analytical planning role, within CPG or food and beverage
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; or equivalent experience that demonstrates the same analytical foundation
- Hands-on forecasting experience: you have built and managed a forecast, prepared forecast reviews, and understand what it means when bias or forecast accuracy moves in the wrong direction
- Strong Excel/sheets skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, large data sets, imperfect source data, and model-building from scratch
- Experience working with retailer POS, syndicated data, or commercial performance data such as SPINS, Circana, Nielsen, customer portals, UNFI and KeHe distributor reporting
- Familiarity with trade promotion mechanics and how promotions affect volume, revenue, and supply planning
- Exposure to ERP, BI, TPM/TPO or planning tools such as NetSuite, SAP, Anaplan, Confido, Pecan, Exceedra, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms
- Ability to translate detailed analysis into a clear recommendation for Sales, Finance, Operations, and senior leaders
- Exposure to natural, specialty, conventional grocery, mass, club, e-commerce, or distributor-based channels
- Comfort working through ambiguity and improving planning discipline in an environment where data sources and systems are evolving
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting S&OP, IBP, MFR, or other recurring commercial planning processes
- Experience working at a high-growth, founder-led, or entrepreneurial CPG brand where the process is still being written
- Experience supporting trade planning, post-promotion analysis, customer planning, or annual operating plan development
- Familiarity with the Momofuku Goods brand, philosophy, and internal systems
