Job Summary
Maintain sales quotas and advise customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and prepare tags for promotions while setting up displays and stocking sales areas. Resolve customer complaints regarding damaged or incorrect merchandise and handle inquiries in person or via telephone. Conduct sales prospecting calls using telemarketing techniques, update CRM records, and document pickup/delivery times. Clean assigned sales areas and adhere to display and customer service standards. Assist with credit applications, process documentation, and compose thank-you notes. Perform moderate physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing to reach merchandise.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
- ability to climb and balance
- ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
