Job Summary
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual store sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and ensure accurate sales write-ups while setting up advertising displays and stocking shelves, counters, and tables. Handle customer inquiries in person or via telephone, resolve complaints regarding damaged or incorrect merchandise, and make telemarketing calls using CRM systems to maintain accurate customer records. Set delivery or pickup times, document transactions, and compose thank-you notes. Clean assigned sales areas and adhere to display, customer service, and telephone standards. Uphold company values and H.O.M.E. principles. Requires high school diploma or GED, six months retail experience, and moderate physical ability for lifting and balancing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position

- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments

- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
