Job Summary
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and ensure accurate sales write-ups while tagging merchandise for promotions. Set up advertising displays, stock sales areas, and manage pick-ups with customer signatures. Resolve delivery complaints, handle inquiries in person or via telemarketing, and update CRM records. Clean assigned sales floors and attend scheduled meetings. Compose thank-you notes, process documentation, and adhere to display and customer service standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals
- ability to communicate orally
- exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents or toxic agents/chemicals
