Job Summary
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value while resolving delivery complaints for damaged or incorrect items. Set up advertising displays, arrange merchandise on counters, stock shelves, and load pick-ups with customer signatures. Process sales discounts, verify prices, and keep accurate records in the CRM system for telemarketing calls and in-person inquiries. Compose thank-you notes, assist with credit applications, and adhere to display and customer service standards. Perform moderate physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and balancing while maintaining a clean sales floor.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
- ability to climb and balance
- ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
- ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals
