Job Summary
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by advising customers on home furnishings quality, style, and value while resolving delivery complaints for damaged or incorrect merchandise. Verify prices, calculate discounts, and accurately tag, display, and stock shelves, counters, and sales floors to promote advertising promotions. Conduct sales prospecting calls using telemarketing techniques, handle inquiries in person or via phone, and update customer records in the CRM system. Set delivery or pickup times, process credit applications, and compose thank-you notes. Clean assigned sales areas, inspect merchandise, and adhere to display standards, customer service protocols, and the S.W.I.N.G. program. Operate computers, calculators, and other equipment to complete daily functions while upholding company values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months experience in practical retail sells
- any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data
- ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations
- ability to operate equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments
- ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or descriptive data and information
- ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to calculate decimals and percentages
- ability to utilize principles of fractions
- ability to interpret graphs
- ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
- ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of predefined duties which are often characterized by frequent change
- ability to exert moderate physical effort
- ability to climb and balance
- ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds)
